
oh idk if #5 is right or wrong, but it’s true that we tend to be more susceptible to indoctrination because of moral inflexibility. when we trust people, we REALLY trust them, and their thinking becomes ours. we have to work a lot harder when addressing problematic viewpoints because of it.
if you’re talking about self-diagnosis, then you’re ignoring all the pressures to NOT get diagnosed, as well as the lack of reason to get one. it’s dangerous to have a mental disorder diagnosis given the state of the country, and there’s active medical discrimination against people with diagnosed autism.
foreign-born autistic applicants for citizenship in New Zealand and Australia commonly get rejected, and that’s one of the more blatant ones. medical & systemic discrimination against autistic people is a serious issue. we’re also in the “women with autism” group, and it’s well-known thar we’re underdiagnosed, and many people will be adults by the time they find out.
