I’m a STEM girlie. But I tried very hard to well in English, but I couldn’t master dissecting a sentence. My teacher, senior year of high school made dissect sentences in front of the class (failed at it) over and over until I cried in the middle of class

Omg same!!!! I love stem, but I also am a writer and am majoring in anthropology. I write papers constantly and am working on my first book, BUT ask me what a participle is, or make me deconstruct a sentence and I WILL cry. I have no idea what English grammar is or how it works, but goddamn I know what a well written sentence sounds like and can write my ass off lol. Grammatical rules will forever remain a mystery to me

Not stupid, ended up salutatorian, but I just couldn’t understand English grammar naturally, and felt so stupid in front of my peers and they all knew how much I struggled at that very moment. Haunts me to this day.

This is me. I quad majored in mechanical engineering, mathematics, physics and liberal arts, but do not ask me anything about English. I don’t known what it is, but everything just feels so subjective. I love math for its consistency.

Literally. Like I can write well, but sentences structures are wack. Seems very subjective and almost impossible to do. I also have dyslexia so tbh writing has been difficult.
