Does anyone have advice for what to do with their hair when they just get overstimulated by it and putting it up doesn’t help? Do I just chop it at this point

My favorite hair to have was a buzzcut, but it did make people react worse to me/be unfriendlier/ruder esp with my facial piercing :( if your hair works for it maybe a pixie cut type? My hair stands straight up… 🥲

I chopped mine! It is a bit of a trade off because I went REALLY short (more masculine haircut) so I do have to go in and get it trimmed more often than I did before when it was down to my mid back and I’m not a huge fan of going to the salon, but it was worth it for me!

i am a huge recommender of chopping it. my mom and i both have hair related sensory issues (i hate washing it, she hates it touching the back of her neck) and every time it bothers us we just chop

I put it up and use a piece of fabric to cover my hairline all the way to where it’s up so I don’t mess with it at all

Just a septum! I will say aside from the social backlash from friends, family, and strangers, it was also a pain to grow back out when I got tired of shaving it lol. But I don’t go to hair salons and if that’s tolerable or something you normally do I’m sure some shaping by someone who knows what they’re doing would make a lot of difference. Also you need a beanie collection if you live somewhere that gets cold lol!

Like this. The fabric is the bottom part of a shirt that’s been cut off. I just line it up up front first and then wrap it around a bun so the hair is off my neck, too
