something that bothers me a lot is that people gender mars and venus placements specifically and excessively and it leaves no room for queer people to exist in astrology. the planets do not have genders, stop it

I take gender out of astrology PERIODT as a professional. There is absolutely no reason to input social constructs into a field of study that is designed to progress humanity forward. After all, astrology is an 11th house/aquarius field of study. Not an eighth house, that is more so mediumship. Psychic phenomena can sometimes be found in the eighth but mostly the twelfth

That makes sense. I’m very cis so I do not understand the struggle but I can imagine that being labeled is very hard.

What if you thought of it as a general masculine and feminine on either sides of a scale? Some people are more feminine some are more masculine but each person has both aspects to their personality.

i see people post on reddit, tiktok, tumblr, etc. that certain placements make men attractive but women unattractive and vice versa. i've also seen people say that if you're a woman then your mars sign is what you look for in a man (venus sign for men). i personally don't even attribute masculine or feminine qualities to them because i prefer it that way, but its frustrating theres so many sources that don't include queer people

This is infusing social constructs into astrology. That is no different than projecting society’s cultural norms into a field of study that is so much more than that. Feminine masculine is nothing more than our personal opinions of what they are and astrology gives no cares about our opinions. It just sticks with the facts. Astrology can show us, however how we respond or fit into social/cultural norms
