As a nerdy guy, it is a possibility that your definition of nerdy guy could differ and that is the cause, but also guys like that are often receptive to different types of flirting, which is a factor

To follow up though, I guess my point is you should curate your flirting to the person because real nerds like engineers and sci-fi geeks are often socially irregular and honestly just want someone who will do the things they like with them. Are you a nerd yourself?

yeah that makes sense, i’m more into guys that are more balanced though with like nerdy stuff and being social and exercising just cause that’s how i am. i would definitely say im a nerd more in regards to biology/geography/literature not sci-fi/engineering. i also don’t look nerdy so idk

op unless you have said the words “i’m interested in you romantically”, “do you wanna make out”, or “can i give you my number i want you to take me on a date”. and been rejected, there is a very solid chance they didn’t know you were interested in them. ESPECIALLY if they were nerdy and shy.

hmmm yeah that’s a good point. the only thing i feel like i would have gotten some inadvertent signals (body language, how much attention they give you, how much they want to talk to you) that they’re interested in me and i just couldn’t fully tell how they felt. and usually you can tell when a guy likes you i guess?

you better hope that those nerdy guys didn’t have some sort of social disorder because you’ll be trying to read body language but their disorders will say something else when really they want something else

i did try to gauge interest though through like dming and stuff and i just didn’t feel like they saw me that way? like i wasn’t getting a romantically interested vibe from them

i don’t really know what to do about that though, especially if i’m showing him i’m interested? like how do you work around that especially since im not super bold and can be kinda shy too when it comes to these things
