Man, this post made me realize all my favorite ā€œlove songsā€ are actually just really sad songs that happen to revolve around love

Gut wrenching: Andrew In Drag, Waiting Room by Phoebe Bridgers (obvi), Distant Lover by Marvin Gaye Endearing: I Have Nothing by Miss Houston, As Long As You Follow by Fleetwood, My Girl by The Temptations, Make It With You by Bread Favorite is If I Should Die Tonight by Marvin Gaye. Let’s Get It On is a beautiful album, so is What’s Going On

It’s so perfect. I’m tired of the ā€œshe’s so hotā€ love songs. I want more ā€œwe grew old togetherā€ love songs.

Cliche ass song, but I think ā€œhappierā€ by Marshmello hits different because that’s real love. Sacrificing temporary happiness and facing reality head on, even if it means letting someone go for the sake of their own happiness. It might hurt like hell but it’s what’s best in some situations.

Honorable mentions: Only Over You by Fleetwood, Graceland Too by Phoebe, I Need You by America, and obviously Fast Car and basically half of Adele’s discography šŸ˜›

you could also look at ojalĆ” as being about being so frustrated that your in love that you wish the person would disappear
