No. He was traded for galactic power that Sidious never gave, and instead the man took him on as an apprentice Sith assassin. The Nightsisters were tricked. Plus they healed him after his fight with Obi-Wan. Also they powered up Opress to help Maul get revenge. The Nightsisters absolutely supported his rise
