genuinely how do you make female friends if you're autistic and in grad school i am in a major city, which helps, but i don't know anyone. i think i vibe with ppl one-on-one but i don't integrate well into existing friend groups

If youre in grad school youre likely to find autistic peers that are pursuing smth theyre autistic about. I didnt do grad school but j picked a very autistic major and made many autistic friends by nature of us being rlly into the thing we are studying

I find people who are also different, generally neurodivergent. Make a few friends, ask to hang out with them and tell them to invite whoever they want to join

I learned how to mask really well so most people can’t tell I’m autistic when they meet me 😄

Almost all of my friends are autistic. We find each other through our shared hobbies

Also sometimes you gotta make your own friend groups, find some people in your same classes/labs/orgs with similar interests and invite them to go do something relevant

it is a very small program :/ i'm acquainted with a few people but they seem way more socially adjusted than me... i cannot pass as non-autistic. but thank you!
