i don’t mean to assume but honestly that’s a little worrisome to me. the fact that his brother responded with “oh are you with your girlfriend” to me shows that “i won’t be single” would not be the expected response from him if you were not around. idk the situation for sure though

i agree. the “oh are you with your gf” response makes it seem like your boyfriend only answered like that because he was with you. and his brother realized this which is why he asked that.
