I support sex workers but the idea of being desperate enough to pay someone for sex is kinda a turn off ngl. Like if you couldn’t build a connection with a woman or other woman are too scared/disgusted to hook up with you casually it doesn’t bode well for me.

Can I ask the follow up question of is paying for OF “using sex workers”? I know so many married military dudes and a few incarcerated friends paying for that because it’s the best they can get atm

I want women to be able to be safe in society even if they are sex workers. I want them to have rights and protections and not to face undue harassment or threat. That doesn’t mean I want to date a sex worker or someone who would hire one.

Can you really not see how that statement stigmatizes sw and harms how women who pursue it are perceived and valued? Watch the Charlie Sheen biopic, sometimes they’re not paying for the sex they’re paying for the woman to leave afterwards

Everyone is allowed to have the boundaries they want in a relationship. I want women to have protections but that does not mean I have to be willing to be in a relationship with a man who would use a sex worker. I don’t have to agree with sex work to want women in it protected

If a man would pay for sex that tells me he sees a woman’s body as an item for purchase. And I would never feel comfortable dating someone with that veiw

Mac Miller was with a sex worker when he died it’s in the court texts. Way more men that you like have used sex workers and they will NEVER be honest with you about it because of this warped discriminatory perspective you maintain

Yep which is why I am very very careful and thorough with the men I let in my life

Idk what men you grew up around but that’s simply not true. Any self respecting (and woman respecting) man would not engage with sex workers in any sense. There’s plenty of men who don’t. Additionally, there is just as much shame in purchasing sexual acts than there is in offering them.

Why? It’s a pretty normal thing to not like guys who hire sex workers

I’m surprised by the amount personally. It seems stigmatizing.

I mean this is not a surprising opinion. Most women don’t want men who see them as purchasable goods

I just don’t see it that way. If I am in a relationship with a man I don’t think he’d see me as purchasable. Just because in the past he had solicited someone who was willingly offering a service and he properly compensated them doesn’t mean he views you that way. That’s a completely different context. Like if just cause his hairstylist is a woman doesn’t mean he thinks he can get me to cut his hair.

That’s good for you and that’s fair, you can date these men!. That’s not how I see it tho and I could simply never love or be with someone who’s hired a prostitute

This is my reasoning too. If you’d resort to paying for sex rather than finding someone who’s mutually attracted to you, or even just learning to be comfortable by yourself, you are desperate and have questionable morals around sex

Yeah that counts. If they are married then that’s cheating
