if women get the ultimate say in if they should have the baby or not, then isn’t it only fair that the man should be able to walk away?

…you know men leave women all the time right 😭 if this is about child support then sure though, it would make sense that there’s more legal options in place for situations in which the man didn’t want the child and the woman did. This does get tricky though because a man might tell a woman he wants the kid too then she decides to keep it then if he leaves her after abortion is no longer an option, she’d be stuck with a baby she only wanted because of the original context. So messy messy messy

The way I see it, men and women are both responsible for the baby. Their time frame of being able to choose is just different because of the roles they play in birth. Men get to choose to walk away up until conception. Women get to choose to walk away a bit longer, until the fetus is however many weeks long. But if the baby is carried to term, both share responsibility

i mean the dad will look like a raging fucking asshole if he does this so I’m assuming finances over morality here

Idk if that made sense. Like men can walk away up until the actual act of conception, women can walk away up until the window for abortion is over

Idk. Me and my partner don’t want kids. If I suddenly decide I do actually want a kid and baby trap him by messing with condoms or no longer being on BC w/o his knowledge(which is a form of SA I’m pretty sure) and he walks away? I’m the asshole. And if I decide to keep the baby to term if he decides to leave then I should have sole responsibility

I think as long as the guy leaves after it’s established the woman doesn’t want an abortion and he wasn’t like, actively trying for a kid before hand (like he didn’t lie to get her pregnant then leave or smth) he shouldn’t have to carry that responsibility. Now if he hangs around after the time for abortion has passed he may be financially liable imo
