So I’m 19 and still a virgin. Is it normal to like want sex, but also feel like nervous and disgusted by it?

disgusted - not super normal unless you were raised religious nervous - extremely normal

Assuming you’re also a woman I think it’s more common than you think for women to have gross feelings about sex, especially before experiencing it. I’m still a little icked out by the idea of something being inside of me and I lost my virginity like 8 years ago. It’s not even a religious thing, just like thinking about the inside of my body too much makes me dizzy

I can totally relate to you! I’m in a healthy relationship for almost two years. I wanted to have sex with him way before I did because my parents always put pressure on me about how I shouldn’t have sex. I couldn’t exactly put a name to who I felt, but I thought it would be this huge thing that would change me for the worse. I ended up having sex at 19 with a guy who was patient and cared. If you are with the right guy, he should help you through this and make you feel good, and excited.

I don’t know if disgusted is necessarily the word I mean. I just feel a bunch of mixed emotions about it

Be patient with yourself. And know that it’s your decision. You shouldn’t have to feel bad for it. We were taught too but we need to get away from that. It’s easier said than done, but I promise you it will work out and it’s nothing to be ashamed about.
