One of my fav types of compliments is when someone points out smth ab how my outfit matches myself in some other way. Like "i love your color coordination" or "green is so your color it makes your eyes look so bright". Its thoughtful, engages with my effort i put into my appearance, and is a good conversation starter

Once had a lady in target start making conversation about those scented sun screens out of the blue. Hope she’s doing well, she seemed so peppy and fun
