I have no problem with the Bible but I do have a problem with going against the constitution. It’s one thing if they’re exploring all or several of the main religions that we might come across as Americans, but it’s another to be reaching ONLY the Bible in school. Separation of church and state. The state owns the schools so should only be taught in private schools
the bible has had a massive influence on Western civilization and the USA is a massively Christian country bc of it. i see zero problems with having kids studying up on that and religion, its literally history and religion plays an integral part of all societies. for example i read greek mythology in school and discussed it. also, the Supreme Court previously ruled that its fine if its studying the Bible as literature, history, or culture, and not like promoting Christianity as the truth or smth
No, there is no difference. Both are objectively not required for curriculum. I can see your bias as you describe the religious aspect as government mandated, but the other examples are seemingly not described as such? These groups are included in history, the history where they were prevalent. The United States for much of its history was predominantly white Christian, hence much of its history will include white and Christian. 🤷♀️
