Then you have a reductionist view on religion and thiesm. Some of the smartest people and most open-minded people in the world are religious. It just happened to some of the dumbest people and least open-minded people in the world are also religious. But they’re not monolithic. You already probably hold most of the broad views that Christian hold anyway even without being an active Christian. So no, I don’t think it’s reasonable.
You can dress it up with all the nuance and culture you want, but when you strip it down, the core premise is still literally just believing in magic. It’s not "reductionist" to point out the actual foundation of what they're practicing. I could never respect another person as my equal who follows religion. I can respect them as a human and that they are living a delusional life sure, not my problem. Dating them? Absolutely not.
I grew up in a religious household dipshit. Forced to go to church with all the other loonies. It’s a man made concept that only continues today through the indoctrination of children. I’m not here to help you deconstruct. Religious people and atheists are fundamentally not compatible.
yeah but to reduce someone’s body to numbers like that is just kind of idk rude? you can go for someone you find attractive, i encourage you to. but if your only requirement for their looks is they fit within some body fat percentage range then you’re treating someone being fat as like the worst thing that can happen to them. everybody has preferences but that doesn’t mean those preferences are divorced from bias or social pressure
yeah but you’re still reducing people’s attractiveness to you as just their body fat percentage. idk in my experience if you’re looking for strict parameters on what someone’s body is like you end up ruling out a lot of people you have a connection with or do find attractive, and end up reducing them to numbers instead of people
OP do NOT listen to these mfs lmfao!!!! Date who you have a preference for! Men do it all the time. Women are allowed to go for people who they find attractive too Jesus Christ. Me personally I wouldn’t date an ugly or fat guy. Did it once.. nope won’t do it again! Women being told to ignore physical appearance is a scam and bad for everyone
Actually they are trying to make her feel bad for having an idea about how fat she’s cool w her partner being, which accomplishes the same thing. Men objectify women all the time I don’t wanna see anyone trying to make a girl feel bad for the way she stated having a preference for a partner’s weight. Shes allowed to have it. The double standards are crazy
All she said was not fatter than her 😂 pretty normal. Like, not offensive even in the slightest. And NOT objectification. It is not her only value. Meanwhile men are out here talking about how women shouldn’t weigh over 100 pounds and body shaming them if they weigh a bit too much for them. Don’t act like this is the same shit. There’s context and nuance to life dude
