Also depends on context. If her car just broke down and y’all are stranded in Nebraska she’s probably not fine. If you guys just had a really pleasant Sunday brunch she’s probably fine.

I define “fine” as “I’m confident I can get out of whatever hole I’m in and do not need your help”. If you want a complete answer, you will have to ask something that’s not a yes or no question. “How are you feeling?” Is a better question to ask. As long as it’s not a greeting, I will probably give an informative answer.
