Honestly. I have learned basically everything by experimentation. Product reviews are good for making sure an item isn’t total shit and tutorial videos are good for ideas, but everyone’s face shape and skin type are different so what works for one person may not work for another. Learn a little about what skin type you may have and see what products are good for it, google is your friend there.

Like 1 said I’ve learned through experimentation, it might be a good idea to look online for people with similar faces/skin to you and see what kinds of styles they’re doing, but most importantly it’s good to do what feels best to you personally

YouTube honestly. TikTok can be really quick videos. A trip to the drugstore finding simple things to start with for your base like blush, bronzer, maybe concealer. Then work your way up

Depending on how much money you have I would recommend higher end products for your boring but everyday stuff, like concealer, primer, setting spray etc. but drugstore stuff for lipsticks eyeshadow and so on, especially while just getting started. Personal recommendations I have: Urbane decay eyeshadow primer has been a GAMECHANGER for me, keeps my shadow on like nothing else even when I use cheap shadow, and I have oily eyelids. Morphe has pretty good and pretty cheap eyeshadows.

Revlon lip products are usually well reviewed. I also really LOVE Sephora lip gloss, it stays really well and has great color. Splurge on a good concealer and foundation so it won’t look cakey, but definitely do some research into finding the right color and type for your skin before doing so. Using setting powder over it is also usually advisable. Urban decay setting spray is also worth the hype imo But ultimately everything depends on your skin type. Don’t be afraid to just try things and

Wash it off if ig looks silly, the best way to learn what works for your face is trial and error

I think starting with the eyes is the best because that’s most of what people are looking at when they look at your face, learning how to do a decent eyeliner paired with mascara can look amazing in its own if you practice enough

Oh also I personally recommend liquid eyeliner. Stila is the only thing that works for me bc of my greasy eyelids, everything else smears, but if you don’t have that issue you may be able to use a better one, stila can look a bit faded qnd comes off easily. Liquid eyeliner can look rly intimidating so a lot of people avoid it, but if you can get good it rly sets your look apart
