I don’t think it’s too weird. I have some family members who will ask that if we stop somewhere on a long trip or something. I think it’s like a courtesy thing asking if your ready to hit the road kinda thing

idk just sounds like he’s trying to be considerate, tho i’d also like to know the phrasing. here’s my theory: if he spends a lot of time around like his mother and doesn’t have sisters, moms tend to need the bathroom more often bc pregnancy moves ur organs around. so maybe he’s used to the thought process of “oh im out with my mom, she’ll probably need the bathroom more often than i do, ill make sure she has a chance to”, and then he assumed it was bc she’s a woman and not bc she gave birth
