he talks about government-run grocery stores that don’t try to make a profit. anyone who has taken an economics class can tell you this is a horrible idea. it will 1) create a monopoly and 2) zero out competition. we need competition because when corporations compete with each other to provide the best products for the lowest prices, everyone wins. take that away, and everyone loses. you may pay less at the cash register but you will pay far more in taxes to make up for the difference

socialism and communism is not a solution to capitalism. history will repeat itself yet again. there is no such thing as a free lunch. eventually, you run out of other people’s money. but yes, i am sure this charismatic man who majored in “africana studies”, has 3 total years of work experience including working for his mom, and was absent for 50% of the state assembly votes (more than any other member of the assembly) will fix the socioeconomic situation.

other cool things of note: declining to condemn globalizing the antifada when asked to 3 times. expressing love to the Holy Land Five, which sent millions to the Hamas terrorist group, in a rap song. stating he will increase taxes on “whiter neighborhoods”. stated multiple times he wants to defund the police. stated he wants to replace cops with social workers for going to 911 domestic violence calls. states he wants to create “safe injection sites” for people to do crack in public.

in new york, people inject crack cocaine. you should look it up! anyway, he also started an SJP chapter at his college (which calls for the destruction of america). says he wants to abolish billionaires but takes funding from george soros who sent him $37 million. also funded by CAIR. endorsed by hassan piker who said “america deserved 9/11”. (mamdani declined to condemn that too) mainly backed by DSA which has lots of stupid socialist policies including that non-citizens should be able to vote.

in relation to condemning the holocaust: he supported it on social media but did not sponsor the annual resolution for holocaust remembrance day any of the last four years. but maybe that’s excused because he probably wasn’t even there, given that he has been absent and not even participating for most of the assembly votes.
