Vagina’s have to maintain a certain acidity level of around 3.8 - 4.5 pH in order to protect against harmful bacteria that can seriously infect that area. Sticking soap in greatly increases the pH level above a 7 and can harm the vagina by making it more susceptible to bacterial infections which is why exactly why you aren’t supposed to just stick soap in
