I love my mother but she is a pick me (like the full “I like men bc less drama” and “she wears so much makeup”). I want to help her so she can have friends. I’ve tried to subtly shift some thoughts and it has worked somewhat- how can I go further?

When you’re around her, you should talk about the positive aspects of femininity. Bring a positive light to it and show her that you can be friends with men, where less makeup, and also be a girly girl who enjoys womanhood!

Lowkey I think all you can do is be consistent about it. Depends on her temperament and if she responds well to you directly contradicting her vs. smaller/more subtle pushes Maybe fiction might make it easier? She’ll probably project those same ideas onto fictional men/women, but in that landscape there’s more likely to be an objective truth you can use to expand her viewpoint a bit. Idk Good luck though <3

Are you sure that behavior is why she doesn't have friends? She sounds like one of the good ones. Your dad's a lucky guy. Unless she's single? 🧐
