Also side note, I am currently getting spam calls (which I am ignoring so he thinks I blocked him) from the guy who threatened to attack me at my door. Case in point. Men showing up at house without permission = BAD.
Another update: after I posted this, he took down his comment. He told me that he went to her house, and that her father came out and told him that she didn’t want to talk to him.

As a man just reading this fiasco idk what he expected. Incredibly stupid on his part

I’d actually block him though the ringing would just mean you’re ignoring it. If he’s blocked it’ll go straight to your voicemail

Show up at house = bad. Show up at house = bad. Show up at house = bad. Show up at house = bad. Show up at house = bad.

Pls go heckle him. Also if you don’t mind, tell him you know someone (me) who had a guy threaten to attack her at her door, and that she now carries a forbidden knife to school because of it.

Oof I feel you. Take some well-deserved rest. Read a book or something to cleanse the stench of stupidity from your nostrils

Please tell me the block function isnt designed THAT BADLY

Sadly yeah. He can tell you aren’t picking up bc it’ll still ring. I’d actually block him so you can’t be blocked at all. Or send the police his number. They can track him

No offense to the guys, but this is what happens when the majority of engineers are men. You get stupid unsafe designs that let people determine whether they’ve been blocked.

Well it’s always been that way. If the number isn’t blocked they can still call you that’s why you block them so they can’t 😭

It’s a bit complicated bc we have a mutual contact. Also, I want to get notified if he sends me threats because that is evidence. Can’t build a case without evidence. I’ll just have to deal with the stupidity of phone app designers

I don’t think the design is the issue I think it’s perfectly fine the way it is. Just send his number to the police and they can track what he’s doing on it until you can file

Other apps make sure they can’t tell they’ve been blocked. I thought this one would give them a fake ring so they couldn’t tell, like the other ones. Why on earth would you want someone to be able to tell they’ve been blocked?

If it’s your actual number then yeah that’s how phones naturally work. Social media won’t do that bc they don’t give that info out anyway. But ppl will tell eventually bc they can’t look you up. The point of blocking is that ppl cannot contact you at all

It’s like if it’ll ring more than 3 times you’re not blocked. But if he can’t tell then sure by all means. But I think the average person knows if they get blocked or not by now with how long phones have been around. It makes it even more obvious if it’s Apple bc it makes the phone go to SMS and it’ll be green

Androids would be harder to detect blocking bc it just stays the same color. But it won’t send it to you

Yeah Apple sucks bc they wanted “uniqueness and superiority” to androids. When I had an Android my messages were always blue they would just stay on delivered
