Spain does that

In theory, wouldn’t that mean they would get paid less, and be less likely to be hired as they are not able to compete with men who do not need to take as much time off?

Apparently some companies in Indiana do this; really hope it spreads

I wish but it won’t happen. No one is going to pay you the same or hire women if we got 1-7 days off every month. Just like if men had a condition and had to call out sick routinely. They let go my male co worker who had colon cancer bc he kept calling out sick.

Probably not since it’s not something a woman controls and it isn’t men’s fault. That seems a little stupid to discriminate based on biological makeup. Some countries give women PTO for their pain based on what I researched I just don’t know all the countries that would

I’m speaking from an economical standpoint btw here. I get the morality of it, but businesses aren’t human (though lobbyists sure do love to give them human rights)

Well boo hoo to the economy I guess. That’s just misogyny and the patriarchy at its finest. Women suck it up everyday and men don’t do anything bc they have nothing internal like that to endure

I mean I’m not saying I disagree with you, I just don’t see a future where companies would willingly give employees more rights unless everyone unionized for it. It’s possible that might happen in the future though.

More rights? Bc of a woman’s period? 💀

I’m saying countries do that now. America is misogynistic on its own (hence what this theory is rooted in saying women would be underpaid simply bc they can’t come in over period pain bc men don’t deal with it. As if they need to for it to be even). But I doubt we as a ppl would ever do. We barely get paid sick leave here

You know how much people had to fight for the 9-5 schedule 💀

That’s what we fought for so why can’t women get time off for their periods as much as they get time off for maternal leave

Cuz people ain’t fighting for it

Why would you restrict women from being hired just bc they have period pain as well. We were less likely to be hired bc we were simply women years ago and look at us now. So I see no difference personally

And I’m not opposed if they did. Other countries already do it

I’m just saying good luck explaining that to the single 50 year corporate executives that would have to be convinced to spend billions of dollars to give their workers better lives 😴 only way for them to fold is through old fashioned unions

I mean I would be interested to hear how they were able to get it passed the history behind how they did it

They don’t care about that otherwise women wouldn’t be dismissed at hospitals now or sent to work. Or reproductive rights wouldn’t be an outlaw. But thanks I guess? Good luck to us we’ve needed the luck our whole lives

I would think everyone should fight for it but that’s just me. I don’t think women need to be penalized for period pain if it’s only for a few days out of the month

I’m not arguing with you here and you’re making it seem like I’m arguing with you 😴 I’m just being realistic that this would be a hard thing to happen, and while it would benefit society as a whole, this is corporate America we’re talking about and they don’t care

I could definitely see a future though where we get more women CEOs maybe if they cared enough it might happen

That’s only if a doctor signs off saying the pain is “incapacitating”

It evens out because men just work harder. That’s why men get paid more. They also have jobs like doctors, welders, and pilots. Whereas women have jobs like female doctors, female welders, and female pilots.

I mean that would only increase the pay gap. Like just as people who are more prone to take sick days miss out on that pay even tho it’s not their fault the same would be true of periods. If the hours aren’t worked you can’t just pay them more per hour than others to make up for it that’s not fair either

Tbf… if a worker calls out 3 days every month.. even if it is for health reasons, they probably would get fired or a paycht
