I hate to have to compromise. But I don’t think we have too much choice. And the ICE executions still don’t give anti-ICE people more leverage.

How should immigration reform be implemented in your humble opinion?

I mean yeah, deportations can still happen, law enforcement is the only way to make people follow the law. But ICE has utterly failed and needs to be abolished.

We 100% have the choice not to compromise. It’s a human rights issue and you also have to remember ICE and co are not going to compromise because they’re fascists. You can’t negotiate with Nazis.

Senate passed a 2 week funding and by the end of the 2 weeks people will forget. The criminal agitators that continue to cause trouble will allow the argument of insurrection which will greatly speed up the deportations. This is why i wonder why the conversation isnt about the use of the insurrection act and why agitators dont stop that will enable it.

I respect that. I’m sure 99.999% of illegals immigrants would gladly take up a permanent residency without opportunity for citizenship

Given a choice between illegal migration and people with guns barging into my little sister’s school, I’ll say to hell with ICE

Should ICE be replaced or should it’s functions be reassigned to other federal agencies in your opinion?

For now, police can carry out its functions. Police need reform too, but they’re better than ICE and probably any other agency the government is going to make any time soon

Then what is the solution? Overthrowing the government?

Police aren’t allowed to deport

The solution is not to comply in advance to stochastic terrorism, which is what “compromising” on a human right issue is.

I have another solution. But it’s bigger. We need constitutional reform. One idea is to create a mechanism of direct democracy like we have in many states to pass laws and amendments. This could be handy to solve the gridlock of congress. There are so many things that are popular enough that if the federal government had direct democracy they would easily pass.

And amend to constitution to ban hate speech and hate groups. I have a list of thirty amendment ideas. And I’m trying to come up with more ideas based on the constitution reform of post-wwii Germany.

Second one is not a good idea as it’s basically a 1A kneecap if not outright repeal and would almost immediately be weaponized by bad faith interpretation of “hate speech” BUT we definitely need more direct democracy. IMO the biggest step to me for that is to abolish the electoral college
