Counter culture starting in the 60s with the hippie movement began a sexual revolution where it was seen more on TV, talked about more in music in place of the typical love songs in previous years. Then came the color TV, which introduced pornography in the 80s with VCR tapes. Lo and behold, music became even more sexually driven, so we all valued sex more. Mainstream Music became dirtier and dirtier throughout Gen X, Gen Y, and Gen Z. So, culturally, blame the hippies. Then blame the studios.
You can find smut stories written hundreds of years ago, there are examples of pornographic DRAWINGS discovered from before cameras were even a thought. We as the human animal are programmed to have sex. Itās the one thing that carries on the species above all else. Some biologist apparently say that a manās orgasm is actually an evolutionary trait to encourage reproduction. Men are programmed to have as much sex as possible with as many women as possible. Itās just nature. Always has been.
And I donāt even really like talking about sex or my sex life, never felt comfortable with that, but itās one of those things thatās more or less part of the human experience yk. As many societies become less sexually repressive, people are further understanding that portrayals of and conversations surrounding sex are fairly universal and relatable, in media or otherwise. Idk, I personally feel like for me itās a topic that Iād like to keep to myself, but Iām not bothered by how other people>
The point remains, this is not a new development. Take it further back if you must. Paintings and drawings were done that were considered ālewdā. Thereās sculptures, etc. The one sentence you picked out of my comment was an example of how the OP saying the world is sex focused ānowā isnāt quite accurate.
