I asked my bf as a joke why he never refers to me as his wife (we have a friend who does this with his gf) and he said it’s “because I’m more of a husband” how offended should I be.

I wouldn’t be offended. There’s a lot of gendered stereotypes around husband wife roles, so he could be referencing any one of them. Like it could be because you do things that stereotypically fall to the husband (car stuff, fixing stuff, finances, acting as a “protector”), bring home more money, or “wear the pants” in your relationship. Oc all of these stereotypes are incredibly sexist, but prevalent enough where him calling you the husband could be him saying you are capable and independent.

I am extremely “feminine” in terms of presentation and hobbies which was why it was surprising. but I am also queer and our relationship does not follow gender roles a lot of times so it sorta makes sense. To be clear I am not actually offended at all I thought it was funny. This post is a joke
