Hey girls, have you or did you notice that your period cramps got worse and periods got heavier after your first time having sex or after you turned 21 years old? I don’t know if this is a common thing or I need to get it checked 😭

your period goes through stages w you and changes overtime, a lot of it has to do with hormones, your period now and in 5 years will be different, mine has changed a whole lot (i’m only 20 tho), they’ve gotten easier. i’m sure it also depends on when u got it when it changes, but it is definitely something you can bring up to a gyno to see if there is anything underlying. it never hurts to ask, especially since women’s health isn’t always taken seriously and we have to fight for ourselves 😫😫

Get it checked out. You’re probably not dying or anything but that’s around the age PCOS and other conditions with similar symptoms develop in many women.

As I have gotten older my periods have gotten less intense and became short. I used to have them for 8 days with horrible cramps in my early and mid teens. But as I was a few months after I turned 18, my periods became 3-4 days with less severe cramps.

Yeah like sex just hurts now, my period is heavy which isn’t normal and I feel like I’m always peeing. Like I can’t hold it in. Maybe we both go get checked out …

Please do!!! Painful sex, bladder symptoms, and unusually (for you) heavy periods are not normal, we just get told they are because women are expected to suffer pain and bear it.
