I don’t think it’s wrong, but you truly have two options. You tell him how he hurt you and make sure he knows he’s on thin ice. Or you breakup with him.

did he know it was your birthday? if so, i’d say he’s not the right one. nobody should feel like that on their birthday especially not with a boyfriend. they’re supposed to make you feel special on your day.
