What kind of historical nonfiction? I have a lot of like critical geography/environmental recs. Theyre written very narratively tho not like dry facts but stories ab events and themes

big on vietnam war era history and books on class relations. i’ll read almost anything though and just finished a fierce green fire so i’d be down for some more environmental reads!

Oh hell yes! Im sure youve read silent spring? The snail darter and the dam is great 70s era stuff. Encounters with the archdruid is pretty good and particularly the bet: paul erlich julian simon, and our gamble for earths future rlly lays the groundwork for how 1960s environmentalism and skepticism started in the us.

silent spring is amazing! i don’t have any environmental recs concerning the vietnam era (some talk about the impact of agent orange but on a personal and political level with VA care after exposure), but i really recommend the spitting image and kill anything that moves!

after some quick research on storygraph, it seems like the invention of ecocide may be a good read! herbicidal warfare in vietnam and how scientists pushed the DOD to discontinue the usage of agent orange
