Id say cute is better, hot to me usually is a guy id never actually date bc he has a more dangerous essence to him that in fantasy is hot but in the real world would make me uncomfortable

‘Hot’ seems more like a purely physical thing. ‘Cute’ probably means you also have a good personality/are funny/are nice to be around/are safe

If I call you cute, I’m looking at you with stars in my eyes and butterflies in my stomach, but that may just be me. I’ve never once called a guy hot to his face, usually “I find you attractive” if I’m trying for something similar
