Do any other women, even ones who want kids in the future, want a hysterectomy at some point? I plan after having kids to get one as soon as possible because of severe endometriosis. I refuse to deal with the pain and irregular periods till menopause 😂

I’d never get a hysterectomy bc it causes you to instantly go into menopause. As someone who also has endometriosis, I plan on getting an endometrial ablation. I don’t want kids whatsoever tho

Although it sucks I know it’ll be difficult because doctors hate giving hysterectomies to someone young. :/

Not tru if I get just the uterus out I won’t go straight into menopause, taking the ovaries out with it will cause immediate menopausal because that’s what controls the hormones. I just want the uterus out, which will cause me to go into menopause a little earlier than most but it won’t be immediate

The ovaries are also what feed the endometriosis estrogen

Right, it’s not going to be a hundred percent cure but if I remove the uterus i won’t have so much of it around.

If you are only removing the uterus then an endometrial ablation basically does the exact same thing but with a fraction of the recovery time

But I’m getting the uterus out for the irregular periods and pain, that’s what my post says. I want it to stop the symptoms I know it’s not a cure I’m not getting an ablation if I’m still having terrible symptoms.

The ablation would also stop the irregular periods and pain tho? I’m confused

You do what you want but I feel like you should know your options

I know my options and it’s easier for my life style to get a hysterectomy an ablation isn’t a garunteed for me. Mainly because I don’t want to get multiple because some people have to get more than one because endometriosis persists. I just like the idea of getting it all out instead I don’t want a period at all. And eventually I will take my ovaries out much later because I have been recently been diagnosed with pmdd which the ovaries cause.

The ablation makes it so you don’t get a period anymore too but ok

And if you are waiting until after you have kids you probably wouldn’t have to get another

The ablations don’t guaranteed a stop in period sometimes it only makes it lighter. I just don’t want to chance it. You remind me of my gynecologist that I had to stop seeing because they refused to treat me for what I wanted. I simple want a hysterectomy not an ablation

I’m not your doctor lmao I’m just sharing my experience as someone who has endometriosis.. I’m not treating you for anything

My mother was given a hysterectomy and they left one ovary, guess what? Her endometriosis was no longer a problem

This was when she was 30, far before menopause and she had no symptoms of menopause till she was 51

I know your just really defensive about the ablations though it reminds me of my doctor

I’m glad, my mother got a endometrial ablation and her endometriosis was no longer a problem, she never had another period, didnt go into menopause, and she never had to get any other procedures. It’s all up to personal choice!
