Didn’t open the original thread, was about to comment “damn wtf would make you bring that up when the prompt was abt height”… which kinda gave me a moment of realization like damn every time Im shocked at a woman saying something about men it’s always reactionary to something worse a man said

Ain’t that the sad truth. I’m not saying all women’s reactions are justified, but why are they ALWAYS a response

One could also argue that the original comments were in response to comments made by women about men’s height

Bruh look at that dude in the original post and tell me, in complete sincerity, you don’t think that guy is rage baiting. If one is arguing “the original comments were in response.. “ they’d severely lack media literacy and the ability to think critically about the bias and agenda an author may have

Wouldn’t that logic also apply to the women’s responses?

You’re trying to use logic to make a point in defense of oOP, however oOP was being neither logical or reasonable as they were actively engaging in rage baiting. You’re trying to look at this as though all members of the discourse are rational and reasonable human beings when in reality one member is actively engaging in irrational and unreasonable behavior with the intent of provocation.

Can anyone explain what’s wrong with saying “females”. It’s the same thing as “girls” or “women”… what am I missing?

nothings truly wrong with saying it, however it’s being used to degrade women and reduce them. that’s all, you just wouldn’t go around calling dudes “males”

It’s not the same thing as “girls” or “women” because the thing that makes someone a girl or woman is that they are a human being/person. All species have male and female, only humans are women and girls

You wouldn't call black people "blacks," disabled people "disableds," or queer people "queers." It sounds very derogatory to reduce someone to one part of their identity like that, as if they aren't people first and foremost. That's why we say "___ people." Another word for "female people" is women (or girls).

The only people who should be calling queer people queer are the queers (of which I am one) and blacks is widely regarded as offensive terminology, I was taught early in my education not to use it as it also has derogatory roots. The fact people do it doesn’t make it good
