Advice on making friends. I’m in college and I don’t have actual friends. I’ve never craved to hangout with people and it doesn’t bother me until I realize I truly don’t know anyone/have friends. Not even connected to anyone from high school anymore.

The only thing that actually works is going to the same place, club, or event over and over. People aren’t going to want to give someone their number the first time they meet them, and even if they do, it’s unlikely anything will come of it. But if you’re on your second, third separate convo? Chances go wayyyy up

I guess I just want to know how to go about being more intentional with making true connections. It sometimes feels lonely thinking of everyone in my life as an acquaintance. I don’t want to end up alone I suppose. Thanks for reading :)

On campus I made a lot of friends by going to events. I met my future roommate at an opening week event. Then by sitting in the lobby of my dorm I found people with similar interests and ended up in 2 different friend groups

I feel similarly. I have lots of acquaintances and talk to people everyday, but it’s not that real connection. My advice is put yourself out there often. Ask acquaintances to get coffee or study together - something small and low effort. if they say no you may feel rejected but those small steps can change an acquaintance into a true friend.
