Do you feel different when being referred to as a “woman” “girl” “female” or “lady” and why?

woman: normal, factual, whatever girl: chill from other women, slightly annoyed if it’s from a man or used to make generalizations bc i’m an adult tyvm female: gross. immediately less comfortable unless it’s being used in its correct form as an adjective (ie “female runner”) lady: funny if said ironically. idk if said seriously

I like woman the most. Typically I see female being used as derogatory for some reason. It’s also interesting as boy and girl are paired but calling a woman a girl and a man a boy have different vibes. Lady I’m used to older people calling me or much younger people

Yeah because they often reflect the persons views on women depending on context Like people who call women girls or females while calling men men are generally misogynistic

Woman and lady are both nice (lady depending more on context). Girl can be slightly weird if not in a lighthearted way (could feel like if someone called a man a boy). And female is absolutely horrible, immediately feels like I’m being told something misogynistic, or like I’m being degraded to a medical term.

“Lady” makes me feel like I’m being courted in a good way
