Is it weird and/or wrong if I choose not to show my face to people on the internet, specifically ppl who are in the process of being friends with or new friends? I feel you shouldn’t need to show your face really never but especially not to new people

Absolutely not! Do what you feel comfortable with. Some of my online friends knew my face in 1 month, some have never seen it

It really depends. I get doing it for safety reasons, but most people want to know what their friends look like.

I mainly do it for safety nowadays before (AI was big) it was a mix between safety and self-consciousness/not wanting to be judged because of how I look

Well if they judge you, they aren’t good friends are they? I totally got being hesitant for safety reasons, however, I feel like once you and an online friend reaches a certain level of trust, it is ok to do a face reveal.

Yeah maybe eventually but how do you know when that is? And how do you know they won’t use it for bad, can you tell if someone screenshots or saves an image on iMessages?
