I think its super gross myself but i think part of it is just biological. More dominant behaviors usually signal health/status, which means better genes. I think that basal instinct vs culture conflict is just tricky to deal with, esp when any dude regardless of health can be rude without much consequence (making that instinct pretty useless).

Hmm Idk if this really answers your question but as a man who has an affinity for dominant women over submissive ones, think it has more to do with the desire of being wanted and someone or something dominating you in a sense makes you feel more wanted. For example, I think a lot of women cave to traditional feminine gender roles not necessarily because it’s what they want but because it increases their chances of being pursued.
