I agree with the core take of this but we don’t really have much in the way of evidence of the minutia of Hunter-gatherer social structures because of the lack of written evidence. This goes both ways to, people make unprovable claims about ancient hunter gatherers to make bullshit arguments for the patriarchy as well. We don’t really need to say anything about Hunter gatherers to know marriage has historically been basically a legal framework for human trafficking
