I pull a person into conversation and observe their reaction. For instance, I’ll ask what kind of drink they have and pretend I don’t know what I want to order. Depending on how their body language and facial reaction is to me when talking to them, I’ll either keep the conversation going or move on. Everyone is different, big introductions work for some and small introductions work for others. Hope this helped!
Hm, well I if you’re not feeling as confident with your appearance. I’d stick with a small introduction and if a person is coming off polite (like they answer you but don’t seem interested in continue talking). Good cues to look for is if they just look at their phone after talking to you, look at the TV or give short answers. Cues and body language are very important when trying to talk to someone. Keep it simple, don’t pick compliments that don’t keep an open conversation such as
“You’re beautiful”. Say something about they are wearing “The color of your shirt really compliments your eyes” and then pull the conversation into “ Is this your scene typically?” Referring to the bar. Now this is just an example, anytime you’re talking to anyone: Body Language and Tone of Voice are cues.
