How are other people cleaning “downstairs”? I feel like just water isn’t cutting it for me and I’m super concerned about smell and taste and appearance but don’t have anyone to ask

Warm water is all you need unless there’s a severe imbalance (bacterial, yeast, etc) then those need to be addressed medically. Those aren’t fixed with a soap, most of the time it’s fixed with a cream or antibiotics. Our vagina is really good at cleaning itself. If you’re a bigger girl with more adipose tissue down there, then I would look into feminine washes to keep things fresh around your vag. The fat folds and such are not cleaned by our vagina lol.

I personally don’t feel water cuts it for the entire “downstairs” area. I need to clean the labia area/vulva/urethra with a gentle cleanser. But the vagina itself is self-cleaning beyond an infection & don’t douche at all or use any suppositories not prescribed by a doctor because that will be likely to cause one (opposite of what you want). If you’re specifically worrying about taste, pre/probiotics and pineapple.

That’s the thing, im using warm water directly ( removable shower head) and I know it’s not medical cause I just went to the gyno and everything was good but I just feel like something’s off

Could be diet or again weight related. Is this new or something you’ve been feeling is off for a while now?

It’s been a while if I’m honest. I just know something is different. Could be diet I’m not great with that

Could be diet, could also be your underwear. Is it breathable? You might want to switch to cotton. The poor thing has to breathe lol. If you’re choking it out you’ll start to smell some funk. If it smells yeasty/like bread but there’s no itch, it could be diet. If it smells like that and itches it could be a minor yeast infection. What smells are you worried about? If it’s just faint coochie smell with musty sweat then you’re probably not airing her out well enough

I didn’t even think about underwear, I’ll start looking for replacements! It’s not a super strong smell but there’s a lot of heat like I can feel the heat through my jeans, is that normal?

If you’re feeling heat and your GYN came out normal, then it’s probably trapped heat from a lack of breathing/airing out. So I’d look into new underwear and see if that helps. Normally if you’re radiating noticeable heat from that spot, it’s an infection of some sort or trapped heat/sweat from activity or bad underwear.

Personally I have sensitive skin overall so I just use a sensitive skin body wash that doesn’t bother the rest of my skin & it’s worked fine for me.

Just make sure you rinse thoroughly because left over soap will cause irritation.

Oh and after any sex/masturbation be sure to pee and/or at minimum wash yourself off because any fluids that managed to get into your urethra can cause a UTI. Also, in my experience all the fluids feel itchy after anyway even if you pee, so just washing is what I’d do.

* still pee even if you can shower you don’t want to leave any fluid or bacteria in there.

I always do. It’s a favorite pre-shower activity. But at the minimum you need to pee. And if your panties got wet you need a clean pair anyway.
