You record and document, if she’s prone to call the police and makeup lies you really need video evidence even if it’s in secret so you can have your butt covered. Most importantly your friend really needs your support so they can get out of that relationship and have a support system that’ll keep them from falling back into that abuse.

Just saw the “asking for a friend” bit. For you, just remind your friend over and over that he deserves better than this. Remind him of all the things you like about him. It will take time and patience, but he will eventually ditch his abuser. At least, that has been my experience.

If you’re getting stabbed with nails, that’s evidence. Take pictures of the stab marks and keep them somewhere safe. You can send them to a trusted friend if she goes through your things often.

For everyone that is saying get evidence I wanna piggyback off that. Make sure you have multiple dates and instances recorded. If you have 3 of anything it is recognized as a trend and will help you significantly more proving that this case is real instead of someone trying to brush it off as a one time issue

Tell your friend to leave. Not much else you can do and not much else you should do, if you’re in a relationship where anyone’s physically harming you on purpose you should put as much distance between you two as possible
