Just got a pelvic exam and now when I pee it burns, do I have a UTI? It didn’t burn before the pelvic exam. I’m taking UTI pain relief pills but now I’m scared to peee - I’m drinking lots of water like I’m supposed to (it’s making me me) and it’s hurts 😫

you may just be irritated. if the pain continues i’d go to a doctor to get tested for a uti!

What do they do in a pelvic exam and is it mandatory bc I rlly need to see a gyno but they said first appointment is pelvic and breast exam and Pap smear and I’m not comfy with that

I’d be so pissed if my doctor gave me a uti from a pelvic exam

Update: it stoped burning after 3 days. Worst 3 days of my life but thankfully it’s over. The meds she gave me however have been making it itchy down there so I stoped that didn’t help.

They also put like a Q-tip thing up there to get a sample

Thank you!! The next morning it still burned but a little less! It said wait 24/48 hours after that imma go get tested for a UTI

Yah - it’s recommended that you do it once you turn 21 and then every 3 years after that unless told otherwise
