It rlly annoys me bc I think words carry weight and we shouldn’t spread hatred and include innocent people as well with broad statements that include all but then they hate on me too and like I’m a poc women? If they care about poc and women then y does my voice not matter when I disagree with them

White feminism is only to benefit white women so they can use those rights to be equal to the white men they eventually want to marry. Its insincere and downplays what feminism truly is which is why it comes off kind of ridiculous when they bring up first world issues while we have women all over the world still being trafficked or viewed as property

Yeah and privilege is a spectrum not a binary. Being white, straight, able bodied, neurotypical, Christian, conventionally attractive, financially stable, rich, cis, born US-American (esp in some other countries) are all privileges different people have varying amounts of. Fact is NO ONE likes feeling like they’re being called out or thrown under the bus because of what other people w shared traits they can’t control have done weather or not that’s what’s happening.

Oh absolutely! I’ve dealt with that a lot of the time. People will trivialize minorities based on things they simply don’t comprehend. There is a privilege in being straight and Christian. The same way there is to be wealthy and able bodied. Privilege is SUCH a spectrum and the oppression Olympics that some people play is only harming those groups.

Oof that makes me think of the “man vs bear” question a while back. Even tho I understand why so many women said bear, the minute you changed the question to “Bear or black man” it was suddenly harder for A LOT of people to answer.

The one about false accusations? I saw! I don’t fully disagree with Op. Having a general concern about something that could happen is valid but if you’re fixating on it constantly that is sus, whether it’s a silent confession or just an anxiety disorder. But again that gets very complicated when race is involved (look at all the Karen videos) and that also has to be acknowledged. Otherwise you’re making it clear you only care about one group and that’s also sus.

Yuuuuup that’s the exact reason I made this post because some of the loudest people who trash talk like that do NOT like that energy being thrown back at them when it relates to some other part of their identity. They understand the weight of words then but don’t gf any other time.

Looking back at history: would you rather pick the man, the white person, or the bear? Historically the bear is probably safer than both the other options.
