If the men who can’t get laid stopped caring about getting laid and withdrew from dating, sex, and romance forever. Would we notice that on a societal level anywhere else? What would it look like?

I think society would step a foot in the better direction. Equating dating and romance with the ability to have sex is a detrimental way of thinking irregardless of gender and I find it annoying when I encountered men like this while I was dating. AFAIK many women thinking the same.

As soon as you stop caring I feel like that’s when it’s most likely to happen. Just focus on yourself and becoming the best version of yourself, and people will naturally become attracted to you

Maybe you’d see more isolation but also more happy singles. Forever would be a stretch but having contentment could lead in a positive direction. As there’s less desire for sex that leads to misogyny

If men that thought like this withdrew for the dating pool completely, i think some women would be disappointed (lots of people seek out sex and not relationships) but a lot of other women would come out of the woodworks and start dating more men since they wouldn’t have to deal with this useless ideal.

I think you’re misunderstanding my question. People who aren’t getting laid clearly also aren’t in relationships they’d otherwise want to be in. I think you’re trying to have a different discussion from the one we’re currently having.

Possibly because it would erase a lot of viewpoints that ppl’s lives are valued in how much sex they are having. When that’s an unhealthy view of sex in of itself

Well, then you can’t shit on them or tell them that there’s something wrong with them because they’re not having sex or in relationship relationships despite previously wanting to. Is that a fair deal?

You said there’s no we so what introspection is needed from women. Women didn’t do anything to those men so what reflection is needed. Reflection for having the right to reject sex from men? Because if they do not care if the man has sex, and you have multiple women saying it’ll be better because there’s less value being dependent on sex, what part are you still mad about and how is that womens problem to fix. It’s always the women needing to fix your introspection

The reason you would lie in this conversation is to virtue-signal to make yourself look better to other people who can see this conversation. Also You’re oversimplifying what this would actually look like in real life. You could be discriminated in many different ways like when you date people who haven’t been romantically or sexually successful….or you might have those kinds of conversations with your friends, or be complicit in them.

We are saying that it would probably be better for the dating pool if men who think all romantic relationships equal sex left the pool and that women would start to date unabashedly without fear of coercion or entitlement and you just disagree. You’re the one being pedantic. You thought this was about me before even asking. It is perfectly OK to expect sex under the confines of a romantic relationship. That’s not even what the conversation was originally about but now did you bring that up. It is perfectly OK for you to expect sex in a romantic relationship as long as you’re respecting any other persons boundaries.. you don’t even know what I’m disagreeing with. You just had a random ass argument with yourself.
