That wouldn’t be mansplaining then. That’s from a woman. Most people do experience being talked down to but if it happens from a woman it is by definition not mansplaining.

Well yeah every minority gets talked down to by the privileged class, there’s just a specific term for when a man talks down on a woman. Mansplaining is literally something only women can experience by definition

I mean I get what you’re talking about but that doesn’t really fit the category of “mansplaining”. Mansplaining is strictly men explaining things they don’t have to to women because of the common assumption that we just know less than them. I don’t know an exact term for what you’re describing besides just racism I guess but it’s in a different camp

Because mansplaining is literally when a man assumes a woman doesn’t know something specifically because she’s a woman. Of course poc are spoken down to or treated like they’re dumb, I won’t say they’re not. but unless they’re a woman of any race being spoken down to by a man of any race, it’s not mansplaining.

Im a black woman and definitely have experienced this also. I feel like people assume I’m stupid for no apparent reason, like they’re talking to a child. It gets tiring and it’s so difficult to call out because then people act like it doesn’t happen or that I’m exaggerating
