Nah not at all. Went on a date with a girl recently and had the same thing happen, she said that it puts people on more even footing and prevents creating a dynamic where the girl “owes” the guy something (like intimacy or sex) bc he paid for the date. She was very pragmatic in explaining that I didn’t give off that vibe but that was the reason she preferred to split just generally. Made plenty of sense to me and I prefer to split anyway

I don’t think it’s for certain that you’ve been friendzoned especially if she wants to meet up again. She might just not be accustomed to someone else paying or she may have just wanted to do it for herself

I always offer to pay and even in relationships I have a very hard time letting someone else pay for me.

I can’t speak for her but personally it has nothing to do with how much I like the person. I just find someone else paying for me deeply uncomfortable. I always feel like I’m taking advantage of them, even if they offer. Additionally, on a first date it’s wise not to ‘owe’ the date anything, because shit can get awkward at best if you’re perceived as owing someone in return

I will admit I tend to overthink and my anxiety can get the best of me. We’re still talking together and she said she’d like to meet up again
