Ok so this is gonna sound really harsh lol but I’m not trying to. Did he pick it out for you? I just feel like that an engagement ring is something the man does, it’s his gift to you. Why change it? Why not value the already beautiful ring you have? I just think there’s too much emphasis on the ring has to be absolutely perfect when it’s not even about a ring at all. It’s about marriage

Some ppl just want their dream rings. And ppl do upgrade within years after marriage to change the size. The only thing I’d agree with is changing it during engagement. Maybe he couldn’t afford the dream ring now and wanted to upgrade later. Changing it now feels like you didn’t appreciate what was given. But I don’t think changing it later down the line would be a big deal

It’s been 10 years. I’m going to modify it slight to have the center accent on one side to be emerald and other to be sapphire for our birth stones. Every once in a while, i see it (whether it is on my phone or i just happened to see it) and i still want it. So i’m probably going to get it. We were broke med students at the time but now we’re done with training.
