Should I get an IUD? I’m prone to weight gain, but my cramps are unbearable and I want to have safe sex. Tell me everything I should know. Thank you! 💕

It’s gonna hurt like hell so you BETTER be in a state where they give you numbing of any kind

I got the best outcome possible with mine. It won’t protect you from stds (obviously) but having something that couldn’t be taken away from me greatly eased my mind. Next gyno appointment talk with the doctor about it. They’ll give you info and pamphlets and if you want one a separate appointment

I got mine at 6am took some pain meds then went to a music festival. I feel like people only hear about the horror stories and not the ones where it was in fact just fine! I love having mine I still get cramps just not nearly as bad on my period but I don’t really bleed and I used to bleed through a super tampon in an hour.

totally worth it!! you have to REALLY take care of yourself though, i went from 112 to 145 within a year of having it but i also wasn’t working out or eating as well as i used to. i will say that it is a PAIN when they insert it so be both mentally and physically prepared for that, i went to work the same day though.

I tried to get one and the first one snapped inside of me and the second one wouldn’t go in. Worst pain I’ve ever felt. And I ended up in the ER two days after bc of it ☹️

My IUD saved my life since I was having a nonstop period that didn’t respond to pills beforehand. My gynecologist numbed my cervix with lidocaine and it was maybe a 2/10 insertion pain then 5/10 cramps for a couple days that went away completely with Ibprophen.

Pls ignore my previous comment I confused the IUD for nexplanon for some reason

My insertion was very easy and not super painful. They gave me misoprostol the night before to open my cervix which helped with pain, they also had me take ibuprofen an hour before the procedure and also used numbing spray on my cervix

My OBG said she’d give me a Xanax but I’ve never take a Xanax before and I’m worried that wouldnt be enough😭😭😭I’m terrified but my cramps put me out of commission so I’ve been debating for years now

i doubt xanax would be enough considering my brother got xanax prescribed specifically for flying anxiety

What dose of Xanax? One of my friends was given a higher dose for their insertion and says they don’t remember it lol

yup! but i choose to have sex with my boyfriend and i don’t want to have cramps that make me throw up, hence why I want an IUD.
