Ngl sometimes it’s because they’re insecure you might be making more than them just because of weird societal standards (also a girlie in engineering)

Some guy was using me for money when I didn’t even make much. Then sent a screenshot of his investment and I stopped giving money. He eventually got mad bc I wouldn’t pay for the dates and he lost his car. I was going to school for medical science so I guess he was jealous that I’d make more in the future. After losing his car he ended thinking I was his personal taxi driver and I cut him off

The way you can tell OP is a really smart person. I’m an amab nb of color going into a field that’s 92% white and 95% women with a huge overlap with Greek life.

Lost a few braincells reading that. There are totally materialistic, entitled, and self centered women that try to use men for money. And your attempts to justify it are pathetic.

My point is, you can’t expect to want women to not care about the amount of money a man makes, when that is the only thing he brings to the table for a family. These women aren’t materialistic or entitled, they just expect traditional roles to be met with traditional roles.

Again that isn’t what is happening. Most of these women are not fulfilling their traditional roles of being obedient, cooking, cleaning, raising children, etc. Most just want to buy expensive stuff and party with his money. Honestly not sure what you mean by only thing he brings to the table, but what again to women bring. Being provider and protector seems like a hell of a lot more.

That’s great for you but I honestly don’t understand what that has to do with my comment. I wasn’t talking about OP at all. I’m talking about 1 aka the guy calling women ā€œfemcelsā€

Girls in Engenering are so funny, my favorite thing is we all have to pretend like their ideas are good.

Femcels don’t exist. Women can’t be ā€œinvoluntarily celibateā€ in the way that men can.

I struggle to fathom you have a grasp on the concept of a decent idea if you can’t spell ā€œengineering,ā€ honey. They’re probably just going over your head.

And if they were, they’d just be incels, since it’s technically gender neutral. But like 4 said, we’re usually either voluntarily celibate or like pretty indifferent to it, since we really don’t care about sex all that much (as a group, I mean)

I mean if that is true, wouldn’t that just be an admission that women have it easier than men?

Incel is used to refer to men that hate women regardless of whether they get women. No one knows whether or not a dude has a woman when he says women are dumb and he gets called an incel. If you and other women can say shallow stuff about men and using them for money and not be rejected by men for it, while most men would be rejected for using women, that kinda shows that the sexist bias is against men and women aren’t being held accountable.

Honestly if women can say sexist things about men like 4 said, and not get rejected by men, doesn’t that mean women aren’t be held accountable for their actions whereas men are?

Who’s using men for money when men want to go 50/50 nowadays? This post is about when men use the woman for money so clearly the man in this scenario has no money for that to be a sexist claim

I mean I never said men can’t use women for money, but it is usually the other way around. And some people like #4 are even justifying it and then trying to shame men when they call her ass out

Look at the top. She tried to say women using men for money is just wanting traditional gender roles. And when she was told that a lot of these women that are using men for money are just materialistic, she didn’t have an argument and instead lashed out at me saying it’s not something I will ever have to worry about.

Which you won’t because no one is using you for your money because you have nothing to be used of. Women can make their own

No men who make a lot of money still have to worry about being used for it. The richest women in the world all got their wealth through divorce.

They literally never said using a man for his money is a traditional gender role. Way to flip what they said to fix your narrative. They said you cannot expect a woman to not care how much he makes, nothing to do with spending in any context. In which yes you can’t. Because in this economy caring about how much someone makes when it comes to financial stability and how responsible they are with money is very serious

No man who makes a lot of money has to worry about if he’s being used unless he outright tells someone his income and they take advantage of itof it. Sounds like you’re complaining about an issue that doesn’t even pertain to you in the first place. And has nothing to do with OP’s original point. Sounds like you wanted to play a victim over a woman that got used for how much she made as an engineer and want to flip it on women

Like I said women clearly are making their own money. There’s nothing we need to ā€œuseā€ you for. You offered to give them money. Just say no. It’s your right to refuse to hand someone money just because

Crazy to think women are only wealthy bc of men when women have the highest grad school rates out of men and can very much make their own outside of divorce. Plenty of single women are wealthier than men

Real talk though, I think you may have misunderstood me & that’s why you’re upset. I’m not blaming guys who happen to make less money than a woman for being upset; I literally said it’s societal pressure. It’s foreign to me, as a bisexual woman, but like I understand why some men are like that. Personally I think it shouldn’t matter, my partner doesn’t need to make as much as me, guy or girl
