Go to your gyno and ask. They cal talk youn through types, benefits and risks, potential side effects, etc. I took a few extra strength Tylenol before I got mine and didn’t experience too much pain, and I rarely get periods now. I have no side effects that I’ve noticed, so for me it was a good idea, but idk your medical history. If you’re worried, why not go for the pill?

My friend and I both got Nex in our arms we both really like it we have bruises for a bit but they obviously go away i will warn her drive definitely slowed down afterwards but mine had no side effects of that nature! No it doesn’t hurt and u don’t feel it on a regular basis and if ur too hectic to remember the pill(like me) it’s a great option

I’m wanting to get one this year too, I was on Nexplanon but it ended up giving me nonstop utis because it was too much hormones for my body and caused a ton of other issues too. I’m on depo now but it’s not something people recommend long term. If it was I would probably stay on it honestly.

I’m getting IUD in about a month. I have the nex implant, and have had it for a little over a year. I had no issues for the first year, but for the past three months, I’ve been bleeding nonstop. This is an issue I’ve had in the past, so it could be unrelated. However, when I first started it, I didn’t bleed at all. Super recent thing. I tried the pill, and I also tried the Depo shot. Neither one were good, the IUD is known to be the safest and most effective option.
