I hate being short. All I ever wanted when I was a kid was to be one of those huge, intimidating, super masculine guys, but nope, you’re gonna be 5’9 and you’re gonna like it

If you want to feel intimated just spend like 5 years in the gym and wear shoes with 2 in insoles. 5’9 is fine

I’m not a man, but I don’t think 5’9 is bad at all. A guy I was with (super sweet) was 5’7 and I never wished he was taller when I knew him. If it does bother you, you could wear lifts and shoes with thick soles.

None of us will get everything we want, even if you were 6’6 you’d just end up wanting something else. There are other 5’9 dudes who don’t hate that abt themselves. There are guys shorter than you with even deeper insecurity who would kill to be as tall as you. When you die, people will not remember you for being 5’9, they’ll remember what kind of person you were. Loving others usually needs a balance with loving yourself

5’9 is objectively not short. That’s the average male height in America.

I think it’s fine as a woman. I’m the same height

5’9 is pretty tall tho but this is coming from someone who’s 5’1 so idk. I think social media emphasizes a women height preference for men, or just men’s height in general, a lot more than it actually matters irl.

I’m only 5’5 on a good day and I had a gf who liked that I was a similar height to her. Oftentimes we as men focus overly on traits we THINK women want instead of more challenging things like emotional intelligence, confidence, and security

No offense but I don’t want to be tall for women. And wearing shoe lifts to lie about your actual is even worse imo. But thanks for the kind words

Yeah control what you can control I know. But there’s only so much you can do when you’re short

I wouldn’t consider lifts lying but totally get how it’s more of a self image thing and not for other people. Maybe you could do something like #1 said, working out may not change your height but it can still build confidence

Is that why 85% of men I see in public are taller than me?

The only thing being intimidating is good for is dissuading ppl from doing stupid things, there are better ways to do that than being tall. Alexander the Great was prob ≈5’4. Also keep in mind that these desires were most likely inserted to your mind via media as a kid. You’re essentially allowing some soulless megacorp to brainwash you into hating your own body. Think of the ppl who love you, think of yourself as a kid, they would want you to be comfortable in your own skin
